In a bid to further enhance developmental projects in all community areas across the Local Government Areas,Ogin State Government has released the sum of #85.5m as great-in- aid to Community Development Associations and Councils.
The Commissioner for Community Development and Cooperatives , Hon. Ganiyu Hamzat disclosed this during A- 4 day programme organized by the Ministry for the 2020 disbursement of grant-in-aid to CDAs recently held in Abeokuta, the state capital.
Hon. Hamzat, who highlighted the procedure for the disbursement, said 400 CDAs had been considered to receive the grants in the first batch while subvention would be disbursed to 300 Area Community Development committes, 20 Zonal CD committes, 3 Senatorial CD committes as well as the State Community Development Council which is the Apex body.
Earlier in his remarks, the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, who was represented by the Chief of Staff Alhaji Shuaib Salisu, said the grant would aid the proposed projects in the various communities .
He implored all Community Development Associations to allow peaceful co-existence among themselves, pledging that government would not relent in its efforts at ensuring maximum support for the association.
