A staff of the D.S Adegbenro ICT Polytechnic ,itori, Ewekoro Local Government area of Ogun State, recounts the last minutes encounter she had with the Late Saki born, Head of Department, Electrical and Electronics Department of the Institution,last Tuesday before his gruesome assassination. NEWSLIFE stumbled on the viral audio of the lady who did not identify herself.

Her words:( in emotional laden voice ) “They were doing academic board meeting today as the head of Department. He was there. So the meeting has been long around past .4pm. An they have not finished. I was parading the corridor of the venue of the meeting so that oga can be quick so that I can go home.

“He came out of the meeting and said he too is getting bored and asked if he can take me in his car when going. But I told him that “would they allow you to go? If they would allow you, no problem’. He entered back.

” when he came out of the meeting again,I waved him ‘ How far”? Engineer said they didn’t allow him to go and if I can wait for five minutes he would take me along.

” I had wanted to wait but those who we were together in the office changed my mind that we should go together. They said when the meeting ended, he moved with someone and on getting nearer to wasimi,he observed that robbery was going on there and they were shooting. He tried to turn back to turn back and it was in the process of turning back that his car hanged unto the road divider and they said they shot him. He died in the car( crying). They didn’t take anything, nor his phone,his car key. They just killed engineer just like that. I just imagine it that if I were in the car”. She concluded crying.

Ogun State Police Command, according to the PPRO of the state command DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi has commenced investigation on the incident.

The late HOD, who is from Saki, Oyo state was said to have obtained first class degreef from the University and have had his one year mandatory service at Moshood Abiola Polytechnic,Ojere, Abeokuta.

Late Mufutau waliu who had been a tenant in one of the houses built by late Abeokuta based transporter, Alhaji Y .S Akanbi, was described as a nice and gentle man by those who knows him during his lifetime. He has two female children with his wife , a nurse, working in one of the government owned hospitals in Abeokuta, the state capital.
